Travelling to Bedknobs
Travelling by Car
Bedknobs in Bodmin is just off the A30, the main trunk road through Cornwall. Here are some directions to Bodmin from both the A30 and A38. You can click on the map to get full traffic directions from the start point of your journey.
From the A30 travelling West, take the Bodmin turn-off onto the slip-road and move over to the right-hand lane and take the first turning right that will bring you into the top-end of Castle Street.
From the A30 travelling East, the Bodmin turn-off brings you to the Carminow roundabout. Take the second exit and follow signs for Bodmin town centre. Cross over the roundabout by Morrisons Supermarket and then take the second right hand turn that is just before St Petroc's Church, into Pound Lane. Take the first left into Church Lane and continue up the hill into Castle Street.
From the A38 you will also come to the Carminow roundabout. Take the turning for Bodmin Town centre and follow the directions as for the A30 travelling East.

Travelling by Public Transport
Should you be thinking of using public transport to travel to Bodmin, then the website can help you plan your journey from anywhere in the UK and by your choice of vehicle.
Travelling by Rail
If you plan to travel by train to Bodmin Parkway, the mainline departure points are Paddington mainline Station in London or New Street in Birmingham. Providing your transfers are not too complex, this can be one of the most relaxing ways to travel. You can get full information from the website.
We can arrange for you to be picked-up at the station (Bodmin Parkway is 3 miles outside Bodmin), or you can make your own arrangements using either the bus service to Bodmin, or a taxi or car hire firm and you find information on some of these below.
Travelling by Coach

If you decide that you would like to travel on foot from the coach stop, then you may find climb up Castle Street challenging, especially if you have luggage. We will gladly meet you off the coach, commitments permitting, or you might consider using a local taxi.
Arriving at Bedknobs
Finding Bedknobs in Castle Street
If you come into Castle Street from the bottom, you will pass St Petroc's Churchyard. Proceed up the hill and over 3 traffic humps and find the next entrance in a stone wall on the right. If you are travelling down Castle Street, you will pass Love Lane on the left followed by Cross Lane on your right and Bedknobs is the 2nd driveway on your left. You should be able to see a sign for Bedknobs on the gable end of the house.

Arriving by Car
Coming up Castle Street, it is easiest to reverse in. If you would prefer to come in frontwards, then go past our entrance on the right, turn round in the back entrance of The White House Residential Home on the left, then come back down and swing in left.
Parking at Bedknobs
We have off-street parking at Bedknobs and your booking includes space for one car for the length of your stay.
Parking neatly is helpful to ensure that everyone has a space - we accommodate 5 cars when full. This usually works well if the first two or three cars in park diagonally into the corner between the house and the wall next to the road. If you have any problem with positioning, then we’re on hand to help.
Do let us know in advance if you have a larger or longer vehicle as we will try to ensure that a larger space is kept free for you.
Meeting and Greeting
Once you have arrived then you will find our doorway in a porch at the far left corner of the house opposite the Barn where you can ring the bell (or use the knocker). From there, we’ll be happy to assist with your luggage, and take you round to the front door where there is a comfortable seat to change outdoor shoes before showing you to your room.
